In other words, carefully observe real-life situations to understand how people complete their daily tasks/interact with the tools they work with. This method can help to uncover the reality of what people really do – as opposed to what they say they do.

  • Assesses environmental factors, hardware, and additional software/interface needs.
  • Builds a cohesive team by directly involving users.
